White River State Park is located on the city of Bull Shoals side of the dam. It includes an overlook of the White River and the downstream side of the dam. It also includes a visitor center you can visit during business hours.
There is also a large spring in the park known as Big Spring. The park is a popular camping destination, so it is important to reserve your spot early. This is especially true for holiday weekends. To check campsite availability, you can visit the Arkansas State Park website for the park.
Be sure and get your Arkansas fishing license and trout permit before you go. Check out this page for other trout fishing access points along the White River. There are numerous other access points for trout fishermen along the river. There are many access points and guide services within a few miles of the park.
If you are looking for things to do other than fishing, the park also offers several hiking and mountain biking trails to explore. The park also offers programs throughout the year which you can participate in and learn from experts.
