As many of our readers know, I am a big fan of shooting lightning photos. Anytime storms are forecast, you can find me out with my cameras set up, working to catch some amazing images. I love storms and the lightning that goes along with them. I love capturing the beauty of lightning photos to share them with you.
Some friends invited me over for the afternoon on 8-13-21. We knew the forecast was for possible storms moving into our area later. However, when I got there, it was clear and hot. But as we watched through the afternoon, we could see storms with high levels of lightning moving in from the west. When they arrived, the show was fantastic, and I was able to catch some awesome shots.
Capturing lightning is a challenge, but that is part of the fun. When lightning is striking so close that there is only a crack and not the usual boom from thunder, you know it is close. Maybe the extra bit of danger helps to propel me out to shoot this beautiful natural phenomenon. Whatever the reason, I also love sharing them with our readers. So here is a gallery of photos taken on 8-13-21 in the evening.
