Clean Your Sink Naturally

Did you know you can naturally clean your sink with products that are totally natural and biodegradable? This video shows you a really easy way to naturally clean your sink, and disinfect it at the same time. This method uses only totally biodegradable products.

Using biodegradable products helps the environment by helping you avoid putting harsh chemicals down the drain. It can also save you a ton of money because the items used are relatively inexpensive and readily available in most homes already.

Baking Soda

Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) is a naturally occurring product that is very useful around the house. In this case, we use its mild abrasive properties as well as its ability to absorb odors and freshen the sink and drain.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is mildly acidic and its oxidizing properties make it a great disinfectant. It is the perfect germ killer for use in the kitchen, as well as for mild wounds to prevent infection. It has a mild bleaching action to help remove stains.

In the video, I show you how you can buy inexpensive sprayers that will thread right on the top of the peroxide bottle. I also show you how I repurposed an old foot powder container to use that helps you to sprinkle the baking soda.

Procedure

Spray the sink liberally with hydrogen peroxide to disinfect the sink and loosen stuck particles. It is also a mild bleach, so it will start working on the stains. Sprinkle baking soda over the hydrogen peroxide and let sit for 10-20 minutes.

Use a microfiber cloth (available here) to scrub the sink. Moisten the cloth with warm water and scrub to clean your sink naturally.
