Pruitt Landing

Pruitt Landing is a few miles north of Jasper, AR. on Scenic Highway 7. Pruitt landing is a popular canoe launching spot for floating the Buffalo River. There is a restroom in the parking area, but there is no camping area. This parking lot fills up quickly during the spring and summer, so plan to get there early.

There is also a hiking trail along Mill Creek that you can hike. Update*: Unfortunately, the trail is closed due to erosion of the trail and bridge construction both over the Buffalo River and over Mill Creek. At low water, you can walk along the creek up until the bridge construction area.

You can also visit the area to fish for smallmouth bass in the river. Be sure you have your Arkansas fishing license if you plan to give smallmouth fishing a try.

You can launch your canoe or kayak here by driving right to the river on the gravel bar. The float from Pruitt to Hasty is about 6.8 miles and takes 4-5 hours to complete.
