DIY Citrus Air Freshener

I made this video for another blog I manage, but it seemed to be something our readers might also enjoy. This video shows you how to make an easy DIY citrus air freshener for your home. This air freshener uses only 2 ingredients plus the essential oils.

Making The DIY Citrus Air Freshener

  • Add 1 Tbsp Witch Hazel to the bottle first
  • Add 10 drops of Grapefruit essential oil
  • Add 10 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
  • Add 10 drops Lemon essential oil
  • Add distilled water to fill the container.
  • Shake and freshen the air.

The Witch Hazel is used as an emulsifier because even though essential oils are not technically oils they don’t mix well with water. If you didn’t add an emulsifier the oils would float to the top in the bottle, and you would just be spraying water around until the oils got to the bottom.

You can substitute rubbing alcohol or cheap vodka for the witch hazel if you don’t like the smell.
